IT'S A BOY!!!!
We had our 5 month ultrasound today. We do have a confession, we actually found out the sex last week because I had to go in for a checkup. I was having some weird tightening in my uterus and was afraid they were contractions. It turns out it was just the baby moving and repositioning himself throughout the day. They did an ultrasound to check my cervix, and we were happy to see that everything checked out just fine. We wanted to wait until today's ultrasound to share on the blog though as we didn't get to do measurements and other important screenings last week.
So last week was an unexpected surprise when the ultrasound technician "let us cheat" (as she put it) and find out the sex! It was a wonderful moment that we will never forget when she put the words "I'm a boy" up on the screen!
So fast forward to today's appointment: Baby Boy Buente was really scrunched up in there! :) He was breech (which is normal for 20-21 weeks) and didn't want to cooperate with the technician. He looked like a humpback in there! ha ha She was able to check most of the "major" things they look for, but we need to go back in 4 weeks for another ultrasound to check for a few more things. She or the doctor didn't see anything that appeared out of the ordinary though, they are just very conservative and want to check again. The heartbeat looked and sounded great, and the brain checked out just fine :) It's comforting actually to know we get to see him again in a month :)
